There isn’t a room in the world that isn’t fascinating. I wonder – if objects like shelves and water bottles had minds – if I could befriend them and they would tell me all that they’ve witnessed. They could tell me all those things said and done when people think no one is hearing or watching. They would tell me the kind of things that people would write about themselves. They would give me an idea of how similar I am to you, or maybe how horrible we are for each other. They’ll have no reason to hold anything back; it will take them no time at all to be completely honest with me.
